The North Herts Guild of Singers is a happy and successful choir which has been going strong for more than 50 years. Based in Hitchin, we are one of the best-known and best-supported choirs in the area.

The choir has now been back rehearsing live for two full terms and has been able to present three post-pandemic concerts.

We invite singers to join us for a special celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We are having a full day workshop of Mozart's stunning Coronation Mass alongside three other Coronation Anthems.

The highlight will be a full singthrough with four up and coming young soloists. The day is being led by our own Harry Bradford, an exceptional prize-winning conductor rapidly making a name for himself. As a young chorister Harry sang with the Chapel Royal Choir and still sometimes joins them, so he has himself been at many royal occasions.

It promises to be a wonderful, rousing day of singing and we do hope that you will join us.

Our Next Concert

Our concert on Saturday 2 April was billed as an evening of celebration, and so it proved! Handel’s rousing Coronation anthems, paired with Stanford’s majestic Te Deum in B flat and Mozart’s exuberant Missa Brevis in B flat, filled a joyous evening and our thanks go to soloists Claire Ward, Sally Lundgren, Alexander Hume and Johannes Moore, guest organist Richard Leach, our hosts at Walworth Road Baptist Church and of course our own inimitable Harry Bradford.

Next we will be back at a favourite venue, St Mary's church in Ashwell, for a programme of opera choruses and songs by Gilbert and Sullivan on 9 July. Watch this space for more information!
