Want to sing ... Would you like to sing with us?

We welcome applications for membership from anyone who enjoys choral singing. The excellent professional musicians who direct and accompany us bring to every rehearsal a great sense of enjoyment of the music plus the commitment and discipline that ensures we give our very best performance at each concert.

We do not hold auditions. Instead, we prefer that you spend a short period of time getting to know us before deciding if you want to join. Come along to two or three of our rehearsals at Benslow Music Trust, preferably at the beginning of a term when we start rehearsing a new concert programme, although this is not essential. After that, if you want to join the choir, just complete a simple application form with your contact details and your preferred voice part and give it to the membership secretary for subsequent approval by the committee. Members are organised around eight voice parts, two each for Sopranos, Altos, Tenors and Basses.

Sadly, we can no longer guarantee that you can become a member immediately because we are very nearly at the maximum capacity of our rehearsal space at Benslow Music Trust (150 people). Instead, we may have to delay your membership until a vacancy arises in your voice section but we will let you know the current situation during your get-to-know-us period or as soon as possible thereafter.

If you want to try us out, please come to Benslow Music Trust around 7.15pm on a Thursday evening (see Diary in Members Area for term time dates) and, if possible, contact the membership secretary in advance so that we know to expect you on that particular Thursday evening.

When you arrive introduce yourself to the membership secretary who will arrange for you to collect copies of the music we will be rehearsing and introduce you to your section leader (see Who’s Who in the Members Area). The rehearsal starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9.30pm.

Please see the section on Frequently Asked Questions for further information about becoming a member.
